Our Top Peruvian Coast

LIMA

Lima has a bad reputation as a gray, chaotic city, but the truth is different. Yes, there is traffic and winter fog, but there are also neighborhoods full of life, a food scene that competes with any capital in the world, and a history that blends the pre-Hispanic and colonial in a unique way.

PARACAS

Paracas is a small town that by itself isn’t spectacular, but it’s the gateway to a brutal marine ecosystem. The Ballestas Islands steal the show: you board a boat early in the morning, the sea is calm, and suddenly you’re surrounded by thousands of birds, sea lions (they smell terrible but are funny), and if you’re lucky, Humboldt penguins.

NAZCA

The Nazca Lines are wild. They’re giant geoglyphs made over 2,000 years ago in the desert, and the only way to see them well is from the air. You board a small plane, buckle in, and begin circling the desert while the pilot points out: “there’s the monkey,” “that’s the spider,” “look, the hummingbird.”

ICA

Ica is about pisco and adventure. Period. This is where Peruvian pisco is made, our signature spirit, and also the Huacachina oasis — that postcard-perfect spot that looks Photoshopped but is real.

MÁNCORA

Máncora is Peru’s beach spot. Warm water, waves for surfing, a relaxed vibe, and an atmosphere mixing travelers from everywhere with Peruvians wanting to disconnect. It’s far, yes, but if you want good beaches and don’t want to leave the country, Máncora is your place.
